Volunteer Information
If you know someone participating in the event or
would just like to be part of The Fronhofer Tool Triathlon at
Lake Lauderdale experience, please consider being a volunteer.
There are numerous jobs to choose from and no experience is required!
Please click on the links below for a description of each job.
**We ask that all volunteers be supportive of
our athletes – encourage, cheer, clap, etc… Competitors
always remember this!!!**
Packet Pick-up
Volunteers will:
-
Direct athletes at Packet Pick-up
-
Review paperwork to ensure we have all of the
required information
-
Collect money for registration and license fees
-
Pass out packets and answer general questions
about the race
-
Count the number of athletes passing through
the entrance/exit
-
Help maintain safety in the vicinity of the
swim start and finish areas
-
Help ensure that all swimmers have a Championship
Chip securely attached and their race number is visible on
their swim cap
-
Help direct the swimmers into the transition
area at the end of the swim
- Assist in breaking down the swim course area - neatly rolling
the fence and placing the wood pieces in boxes. Also, rolling
the green carpet up and placing it with the fence
- Direct athletes as to the direction of the course during the
race
- Keep pedestrians out of the way of the bikers as much as possible.
- Keep intersections clear of cars where cyclists will pass
- Stop vehicle traffic if necessary using a flag or sign (if available)
Volunteers will be needed at the following locations:
*Exit of Lake Lauderdale Park (2)
*Corner of Rt 22 & County Rt 61 (1)
*Corner of County Rt.61 & Sutherland (1)
*Intersection of Sutherland & County Rt.64 (2)
*Intersection of County Rt.64 & Fish Hatchery (2)
*Corner of Fish Hatchery & State Rt.313 (1)
*Intersection of State Rt.313 & County Rt.61 (2)
*Turn Around on State Rt.313 (1)
*Corner of County Rt.61 & County Rt.64 (1)
*Corner of County Rt.64 & State Rt.22 (1)
Upon the conclusion of the last competitor we ask that all volunteers
pick up any signs associated with the Lake Lauderdale Triathlon.

Direct athletes as to the direction of the course
during the race

Provide verbal instructions to athletes where
needed

Keep pedestrians out of the way of the runners
as much as possible.
Volunteers will be needed at the following locations:
*Immediately exiting the transition area, directing them to the
trail out & back portion (1)
*At the turn-around of the trail (1)
*Near the transition area to direct them through the park, back
to the road… Hopefully we will have fence up to limit the
confusion (2)
*At the exit of Lake Lauderdale Park & State Rt.22 (1 –
and could be the same volunteer as the bike course)
*Corner of State Rt.22 & Lauderdale Rd. (1)
*Corner of Lauderdale Rd. & County Rt.61 (1)
*Corner of County Rt.61 & Ackley Rd (1)
*Corner of Ackley Rd. & State Rt.22 (1)
*At turn around on State Rt.22 (1)
*At intersection of State Rt.22 & County Rt.61 (1 – to
stop traffic only, busy intersection)

Assist in breaking down the swim course area

Also, rolling the green carpet up and placing it with the fence

Help in Transition Area by pulling stakes, rolling
the orange fence, and carrying the bike racks to the proper
location.
- Help pick up any signs associated with the Lake Lauderdale Triathlon.

Prepare cups of water and/or fluid replacement
beverages to athletes

Clean up the area around your water stop after
athletes deposit their cups

Maintain an ample supply of full cups for the
athletes

Pass out fluids to the athletes as they run
by your stop

Set up and breakdown the equipment provided
to your water stop
